In 2017, Angry Chickz Founder David Mkhitaryan stumbled upon Nashville Hot Chicken, took one bite, and instantly fell in love. A spicy food fanatic since childhood, David was blown away by the idea of spicy fried chicken. He became obsessed with creating his own version of the popular Southern dish.
Having worked as a cook for his father at their family restaurant for years, David used his experience (and his obsession) to develop the perfect spicy chicken tender. He wanted to see just how juicy, just how spicy, and just how flavorful he could make it.
After a year of perfecting his recipe, he teamed up with his wife and, with the help of his best friend, opened the first Angry Chickz location in a 900-square-foot storefront in LA’s East Hollywood neighborhood in 2018. The vision was simple: serve the best hot chicken with the best customer service.
